Refund Policy
At Bill, we want you to be confident in your subscription. This policy explains when you can get a refund, how to request one, and how we handle billing errors.
1. Our 3-Month Money-Back Guarantee
If you are not satisfied with Bill for any reason, you can cancel your subscription within three calendar months of your first payment date and receive a full refund of all amounts paid — no questions asked.
To claim a refund under this guarantee, contact us at support@bill.co.za before the three-month period expires. We will process your refund within 10 business days to your original payment method. Please allow a further 5–10 business days for your bank to reflect the amount.
This guarantee applies once per customer and to a first subscription only. Accounts that have previously held a paid subscription, received a refund under this guarantee, or benefited from a free trial are not eligible for a further refund under this clause.
2. After the Three-Month Period
After three calendar months from your first payment date, we do not offer refunds for change of mind or unused subscription time. You may cancel your subscription at any time — your access will continue until the end of your current billing period and will not renew thereafter.
3. Billing Errors
We will always refund a billing error on our part. This includes:
- Duplicate charges
- Charges for an amount different from the price confirmed at sign-up
- Charges after a valid cancellation was confirmed
If you believe you have been incorrectly charged, contact us at support@bill.co.za within 30 days of the charge. We will investigate and, if an error occurred, process a full refund of the incorrect amount within 5 business days.
4. Service Defects
If Bill materially fails to deliver the service — for example, due to extended unavailability or data loss caused by us — you may be entitled to a remedy under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008. Please report any such issue to us at support@bill.co.za within 10 business days of becoming aware of it. We will investigate and offer a repair, credit, or refund as appropriate.
5. Free Trial
Our free trial period is provided at no charge. No payment is taken during the trial and no refund is applicable to the trial period itself. The three-month money-back guarantee described above applies from the date of your first paid subscription charge.
6. Cooling-Off Right (ECT Act)
Under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002, you have the right to cancel this agreement within 7 days of your first payment and receive a full refund. Our 3-month money-back guarantee (clause 1 above) is more generous than this statutory right and replaces it for eligible customers.
